Disabled Person's Parking Placards

Disabled person’s parking placards are available to anyone who is temporarily or permanently disabled. Only one disabled parking placard is allowed per individual. Individuals can move the placard to any vehicle in which they are travelling. There is no charge for a disabled person’s placard.

To receive a disabled person’s placard, the applicant’s doctor must complete and notarize form MV-9D. This form must be submitted to our office along with the applicant’s Georgia driver’s license or Georgia ID with their current Baldwin County address.

Temporary disabled person’s placards are red in color and are issued for 6 months. A new MV-9D is required for a renewal along with the applicant’s Georgia driver’s license or Georgia ID with their current Baldwin County address.

Permanent disabled person’s placards are blue in color and are issued for 4 years. A new MV-9D is not required for renewal. To renew, the individual must present the expiring placard along with their Georgia driver’s license or ID card with their current Baldwin County address.

Disabled Person’s License Plate

Only individuals with permanent disabilities are eligible for a disabled person's license plate.

Your doctor must complete and notarize form MV-9D. This form must be submitted to our office along with the applicant’s Georgia driver’s license or Georgia ID with their current Baldwin County address.

A disabled person’s license plate costs $20 plus any other fees and penalties which may apply, including ad valorem tax or TAVT if applicable.

If the vehicle currently has a valid Georgia license plate and a disabled person’s license plate is being requested for that same vehicle, the Georgia license plate must be returned to the tag office.
